Terms & Conditions

Terms & Conditions for CSD

When registering with the school for classes, you are agreeing to abide by the following terms and conditions:

Fees

Invoices will be sent out at the last lesson of each term. Fees are due within the first 3 weeks of each new term otherwise a 10% fee will be added to your invoice, these are payable to a teacher or via BACS (details can be found on invoices) cheques should be made payable to Charlotte’s School of Dance and have the invoice number marked on the back or with the return slip.

A half a terms notice must be given in writing no later than the last day of the half term holiday (half way through a term); otherwise a charge will occur for the next full terms fees as a place will already have been taken for the next term.

There is a 10% discount for siblings who are registered at the school or if more than one genre is attended by the same child (1x 10% discount per invoice)

Exam fees and exam classes must be paid in advance of the exam by the date given to you by the teacher. Entry will only be accepted on receipt of your payment.

Cancelled classes due to unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions are non-refundable. Classes can be replaced by attending a class on another day

Exams

Children are able to take the exams with the British Ballet Organization from Pre-Primary grade in any genre. When your child is eligible I will either speak or write to you to seek permission to enter him/her, as it is not essential and all children and parents are given the option.

All exam children must be able to attend all extra exam classes (usually held 3 weeks before exam date on a Saturday or Sunday at our central venue) to ensure they reach the very high standards required by the examining body.

Certificates are sent out to me usually 1 month after the exam and will be handed to students at the next class.

Although I personally feel that the children enjoy and benefit from the exams, I realise that for various reasons it is not always possible for the children to participate. In these circumstances the child concerned will just go up to the next class with her peers, providing she is able to keep up with the work at the next level.

Uniform

Regulation kit must be worn for classes and examinations. A list is available in the studio and is given out to everyone on registration. This must be purchased within 4 weeks of joining the school. If we do not have the size available at the studio your teacher will order it in for you and should be available for you the following week, where possible.

Shoes for ballet should fit well with elastics sewn in place across the instep. Shoes will wash and if allowed to dry naturally and stretched whilst drying they should not shrink too much.

Hair should be tied back for class and out of eyes; hair should be worn neat and tidy in a bun or plait depending on genre for examinations.

Timetable

The timetable is subject to change and your teacher will try and accommodate you where possible.

Cancelled classes due to unforeseen circumstances or weather conditions are non-refundable. Classes can be replaced by attending the same class on another day

General

No child must leave the venue without a Parent or Guardian. They are expected to remain in the studio/hall until collected by this person. Please ensure your child is aware of this rule. We do not accept responsibility for their safety outside the teaching hall.

Please also make sure they have visited the toilet before coming into class, not only is it disruptive to the other children but there is not always someone there to supervise them

We also do not tolerate any bad behaviour within lessons or agressive behaviour towards staff or other parents whilst at our premises, we pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive dance school for everyone
